The last big adventure of the trip was when Rich, Dad, and Jason hiked the volcano Pacaya. They left in the afternoon and did a pretty strenuous hike up. By evening they were right up to the lava- and could even see it in the cracks under their feet! They roasted marshmallows, which they said took all of 2 seconds to toast!
We had an incredible trip and loved spending the time with Mom and Dad. We left the airport in tears, and the kids both say every day that they wish we lived in Guatemala! While we miss Nana and Pop like crazy, we are grateful for their wonderful example and the blessings their service is bringing to our lives.

Those shots of the volcano are amazing. Jason was telling me how cool it was to be walking right next to the lava...probably smart that the girls stayed home with the children. Glad you had such a great vacation with your family.
We SOOOOO loved having you all here and loved showing you around Guatemala. Thank you for coming, bringing our adorable grandchildren and sharing in our love for this country and people. The apartment is so lonely with you all gone. I didn't want to wipe any little finger prints off after you left! We love you all so much!

What an adventure to remember! This trip has it all... incredible landscapes, healthy doses of adrenaline, treasured moments that tug at your heart. Makes one realize what's really important in life. There is nothing greater that being together with family! That's why God's plan is such a marvelous blessing! It is wonderful to see you enjoying those family bonds Lauren. You and Rich are a real example to Paul and I. We'll miss you!
